First Day With New Baby

Okay, the piece I'm missing goes on the inside and covers the black piece with the electric hanging out of it. Not sure what the part name is, or how easy this is going to be to find. Any thoughts?[/img]

I posted new pictures in my album.
http://s635.photobucket.com/albums/uu74 ... %20Solara/

I didn't get much further than the driver's side once again but I only had about an hour to work. I just noticed in my pictures that I missed a few clumps., and it'd be nice to find those large detail q-tips instead of wedging a towel or angling a toothbrush in there. I'll do another vacuum job once I've hit every crevice since I stirred up lots more dirt & hair.

The repaint isn't going to happen like I thought, but that's okay. My biggest concern is the clearcoat that's peeling away on the roof. I'm not sure what the cheapest & best fix for that is. Unless it was done by another body shop, but the guy only had the bottom of the car done. I still may get them to repaint all that, and hopefully shoot paint on a new mirror and fix the clearcoat issue. Hmmm.

And my steering wheel is trashed. I think it should dye well, along with the leather seats. I want to get into restoration, so here's my big chance!

I decided to buy this set to cover all the leather up in the car. I was going to get everything refinished, but these looked so cool I couldn't resist, and they save me lots of time & money too. Its all part of my customizing. Next steps are finding floormats and a good shark decal to put on the body. :D

Welcome abored man! Nice ride.

I find that the hardest things to clean in our cars is those stupid cup holders!!! Damn cup holders... they make me curse everytime I try to clean them. Now i always have a napkin inside incase

Tell me about it! They seem to have that rough material that collects stuff and stains easily. The degreaser I sprayed and let sit a moment worked pretty well. I just picked up a kit by Black Magic that includes some crevice tools that will make the rest of that cleaning easy. I only had a toothbrush with long handle and a rag as my tools yesterday. The napkin's a good idea, I think I'll maybe make some custom piece to put in the bottom of the cupholder.

I've decided to do a black & tan interior; the seat covers are tan & black, and I'm adding black floormats to go with the tan carpet. I eventually want to replace the black pieces around the stereo, shifter, etc. with a chrome kit I found on eBay. Then I will work on chroming up the rest of the exterior, like the trunk lid, alloys (which are crap), mirror piece, etc. Oh yeah, don't forget the Flowmaster eventually too!

You want my alloys? That could be arranged! I want to get chrome ones to match the other stuff i'll be chroming eventually. i have no idea what these alloys are worth...

I was thinking about breaking the springs myself! at least other cars you can easily lift things out. this car is a nightmare to detail! last night i was lifting out massive balls of dust & dog hair from behind the glove compartment lock & handle, of all places!

I bought some seat covers like the ones your looking at. They actually held up pretty well.. About after a year, expect to see some splitting on the seems of the most used parts. BTW my rear cover does not fit well at all. It stays on there but isnt big enough for my satisfaction. These arent the same design as the ones I bought and I am not sure about the same seller so maybe you will have different luck.

Yeah hopefully these guys maybe evolved their product more if they're the same ones that you bought. I liked the design on them, and the fact they came with back seat covers. The back seats aren't too worn but I figured as long as I was covering two of them...! I only wish these guys had floor mats as well. I have two choices- find a cheap factory black mat or dye my worn ones black. Do you know if you can fit other years mats into this car, or does it specifically need to be '99-01?

Those are cool! I see the rear seats don't fit the best. I didn't even know they made cover for the rear, and I don't know how they'd fit well anyways.

I'll take pics when I get mine in; they should be here by Friday I'd think. I still have to figure out the floormat problem. I'd like to match the tan/black pattern to the mats but nobody makes them that way.
