Sorry guys, complete newbie and I fell in love with this generation Solara. I was wondering what year and model type did the V6 come in a 5-speed tranny?

I think all the gen 1 (99-01) and gen 1.5 (02-03) had the option, but only on the SE trim.

^---+1 Those have been the only years and trims that I've seen, unless somebody did a swap or had it ordered custom.
I read forums more than I talk. /shame

Yeah, I've been reading alot of misleading infomation. I found a '99 Solara SLE V6 5-speed, but had my speculation.

If I'm not mistaken, the 2003 didnt come with the 5 speed option but the 2002 did. Also, the SLE came as a package with all the upgraded equipment and was never offered as a 5 speed. You can tell if its an SLE by the digital auto climate control.

What is the difference in rpms and gas mileage at 75 mph on the highway 5speed vs auto? My 2k corvette 6 speed gets 30 mpg at that speed, better than the wifeys 99 solara v6 auto which I think is a gas hawg cuz it gets in the mid 20s. I hate 10% ethanol gas cuz I can still get 100% gasoline for 12 cents a gallon more till the last shipment of BP at the end of the month.

I get approximately 300 miles to the tank (combination of city and highway miles).

the auto and the 5-speed pretty much gets the same mileage on the highway.

the auto has more load, but revs lower, while the 5-speed has less load, but revs higher (even in 5th gear)

where you save the most gas wit the 5-speed is during in-town driving where the extra gears and the lesser load helps
