So who wants to see a heavier duty torque damper bracket?

So this has been discussed in previous posts but never a specific thread for it. I'm seeing if anyone on here could or knows a shop that could make a beefed up bracket that our torque damper mounts to. Something stronger than that weak ass aluminum crap. Figured we could get one made out of steel or SS. Nothing fancy, just something that would allow the torque damper to be secure and not have to worry about it cracking. ASG, Gabe, you guys got any insight into this? Let's remedy this once and for all.

I still have like 13 brackets, lol. I may have Gabe weld them up for me.

Well, I got my stock one rewelded and looks like it'll hold for now. Just lookin for a longer term solution is all. Luckily if you can't find someone to weld it you can easily find a bracket in a junkyard, cause I called the dealer and to get the bracket you can only get it with the torque damper so its roughly 100 bucks, give or take.

Just grab another bracket from a junkyard and have it welded to your existing mount, that's what I'm doing. That should be plenty strong to hold up to a stiffer torque rod.

TRD4Life is having one designed and then made. I'll let him post up more info. He is in talks with his machinist about it.

is that thing the torque rod holds on to on the top
when your car makes too much torque the thing just snaps cause the rod is much harder than the stock bracket the torque rod bolts to.

had mine welded up last winter, and its been holding up, got a spare, was using that one, and its showing stress cracks, going to have it welded up and reinforced like the one I'm using, once done, I'll post pix ;)

yeah I broke 3 of them already.... and my motor is stock, Oh yeah, almost forgot, once I get the lightweight pulley, and timing belts put in, I'm gonna check up on the rear engine mount I modified to see how it holds up, might offer my services to mod some more, this thing seems to be holding up, but will take pix of that as well. Ptballer had his tranny mounts done by me.... maybe he can chime in and let us know how thats going.
Geeks get it done, while Nerds whimper and call for mommie.
