Yeah, I know. I'm kind of embarrassed by that.
The Solara has really taken a backseat in my life.
I've exchanged a couple of emails with Gabe. Maybe this fall, my Solara will get a new engine. So, lots of upgrades coming soon.

Hopefully.

try having yours sit for years in a garage. i feel ya

I have. I have not driven my Solara since Aug of 2007. I started to work on it last fall, but something always came up.
- Got called into work
- Rainy and cold out
- Family day
- friends want to go out
There is always something to distract me from my Solara. I bought my LSD in 2002. It has been sitting on a shelf for 7 years now. THAT is sad.

I was going to. I bought the Toyota manuals to see what was all involved. After seeing what I needed to do, there is no way I would install it myself. When I save up some money, I'll pay someone else to do it for me.

ha ha

Like I said, maybe this fall.

i thought quaife was an actual brand name for a TORque-SENsing type of limited slip diff. i know torsens are 100% gear-based and do not have clutches to wear out. Clutch-types operate quite differently from a torsen when transitioning from on-throttle to off because the clutch type will still give you some lockup (limited slip) even when coasting. depending on your driving style (at the limit) this can be a good or bad thing.

/me heads to howstuffworks.com to see if they have info on the different types of LSDs out there...

I got mine off of an old TRD Japanese website.
I can't seem to find it anymore.
