Stock talk about the Generation 1 and 1.5 Toyota Solara which were produced from 1999 to 2003.

Who do I believe.

Who do I believe.

The other day I had a check engine light which was code 1153. I have a Autoexray1500 reader in which I list that I have a Toyota. Looking at Toyota codes, 1153 is Bank 1 Sensor 2. Generic code 153 is Bank 2 Sensor 1 and Lexus code is Bank 2 Sensor 1. Which one do I believe? I am leaning towards Lexus since they don't have 4 cylinder engines and may be part of the problem with the Toyota code.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Anyone else have this problem because if the sensor really needs changing I could change the wrong one and then have to change the other one.

Take a shot in the dark, you gotta 50% chance of getting it right. :D

If it was me, I would go with Lexus code as well.
What was the outcome of your search on here???

I haven't found anything that approximates my situation. Think I'll go to the dealer and see if they know. Afterall all they can say is I don't know and they don't charge for talk.

Went to my dealer and talked to the guy I always have checking my car and he didn't have an answer as to the difference. He said the next time the light comes on to let him know and he would have it checked with the shop code reader and computer. I'll will give the results if there is any.

Parts stores like Autozone and Pep Boys will read the code for free. Their reader may not have a conflict like this.

If you didn't erase the code, it may still be in there. Otherwise, you have to wait or take a shot or just change both of them.

If I'm not mistaken, there are actually 3 aren't there?
