possibilities

Postby trd4life » Tue Mar 31, 2009 9:14 pm

the Trd Supercharger with nitrous on a built motor like this makes CRAZY power.

There was a guy on the mr2 forums years back, he won the 04' sport compact car event. He had this same block i made in his mr2 running an 8psi pulley. On a 110 wet shot of nitrous with the TRD charger, he dynoed

476hp
535tq

to the wheels!

Tracy i think we should run a direct port nitrous setup tapped into your trd charger, we could make 500whp no prob with a big enough shot. This motor i built you WILL handle this all day long

Is there some space in there to put a Rotrex perhaps? That way, you could put a blower with a higher range than the TRD.

This summer i am going to be releasing a TRD4life supercharger setup using an m90 supercharger instead of an m62. Should be interesting!

^That will be nice considering how hard it is to find replacement parts for the m62's.

That is EXCELLENT. And even better for those who are willing to go the Hybrid 3MZ/1MZ heads too! Have you thought about TVS?

I think the biggest thing anyone in this thread should be considering is "How the hell am I ever going to put this power to the ground?"

Interesting stuff though guys, good to see some people are still trying new things.

I was never happy with the performance of my TRD superchargers over the years (nitrous with the TRD s/c is a blast though!) , its just too small for the 1mz-fe engine and creates too much heat, the M90 on the other hand is a whole different story :)

Isn't the M62 the same supercharger they use for the Cobalt?

I used to have a 4 door Grand Prix GTP with the 3.8L and M90 and it did a really good job all the way up until I blew the lip off a piston. I got about 300hp to the wheels with bolt on upgrades, headers, exhaust, pully, CAI, coil pack, and tune. I want to say my best time was 13.06 @ 108mph couldn't ever really hook up well enough to break into 12's even with 255 street drag tires. It really needed a limited slip diff or more finess with the throttle than I had.
But hitting it hard at 55-60mph was bad ass. Big stupid grin every time and lots of shocked faces on people as I left them behind.
