v6 clutch hydraulic system question
So a few months back I purchased a 99 camry v6 manual transmission from someone here on the forum. I'm using it as part of a transmission conversion into a totally different vehicle.
I had a quick question about the clutch linkage. Inline on the clutch hydraulic line there is a block/valve of sorts. What is this and what does it do? I was thinking it must be a damper of some sort, perhaps to slow down the release of the clutch. Do you think I should I retain it in my install or eliminate it?
The car is street driven but also goes to the drag strip whenever possible. It runs low 12's now when I can keep the transmission together, aiming for 11.51 eventually with the camry trans (no cage).
Thanks!
