although the engine may have been nearly in the water, it wouldnt cause any harm, maybe a little surface rust. It would have to be flooding like 3+ feet of water to mess up your engine. Unless you have a cold air intake. I say LOWER IT..

I say lowere it and park somewhere else. :D

It doesnt sound like the water was your problem. Its sounds like your alt or battery is the problem. Like Christian said your car would have to be in atleast 3 feet of water or enough to submerge your tail pipe. Check for hood leaks.

wow, is your tailpipe 3 feet off the ground? :drinking:

j/k most water under 1 foot deep won't hurt a car even if you drive through it. if you have a CAI then yes it could suck that water into the engine, so don't drive thru deep water w/ a CAI. just parking there is fine, even if the water IS touching the oil pan.

hood leaks? the hood doesn't seal anything. it helps aerodynamics and keeps pedestrians out of your engine bay. ;) it also protects all the wires and hoses in there from road debris. the "hood seal" at the back of the engine bay is only there to help force air through the engine bay while driving for proper circulation. it has nothing to do with keeping out rain/water. when you drive in the rain, water goes thru the radiator and hits everything in the front of the engine bay - exhaust, alternator, a/c compressor, etc... and when you hit a puddle, the rest of the engine bay gets wet. go drive through a big puddle then pull over and pop the hood if you don't believe me.
