Blacked out Gen 1.5 headlights pics

Since my clear corners (homemade of course) were barely still intact (believe me, dont try to make them yourself. the plastic breaks VERY easily, just buy them) I got the balls to try and black out my headlights. Athough it took a HELLISH amount of muscle to seperate the lens from the housing, it turned out pretty nice. I followed this tutorial: http://www.solaraguy.com/viewtopic.php? ... headlights , only I heated the oven to just 200 degrees. ABS plastic has a melting temp of around 220 to 250, and I didnt want my lenses to warp or bend. sry for crappy pics, my camera broke, so im using my Palm Centro :)

yeah, I live in the giant mudhole, known as Alabama...

Not bad, not bad at all. Looks great. I have a black lara too. I wasnt sure whether blacked headlight housings would look good on a black car or not but now im convinced. Great job.

Nice job man! I did this mod to my gurls Gen 2 Lara. It was a PITA to get that lens cover off! I've been to Mobile AL. You all have some harsh weather down there.

Depo lights FTW!!.....

Looks really good bro. I didnt find it very difficult to separate the lens and the housing. I'm afraid to use the oven though.....I just stick to my heat gun.

I tried makine clear corners too once.....failure all the way, It's impossible to get those open without killing them.

yeah for real man, I was gently prying the clear cover off, when i heard *CRACK*. i swear i almost cried  I used my trusty 327 brand clear cement glue to patch it back together for now :) Im actually trying to find some blacked out corners like the ones LEE377 had before he sold them. it would be awesome if anyone had a link to those :)

I know they were made for the gen 1. :) believe it or not, My driver side corner is from a gen1 lol. Whatever body shop repaired the car from a wreck in 2004, (i got in in 2007) replaced it with the wrong corner light, but it fits ok, and you can barely tell its not meant for the car. If I cant find any blacked out corners for the 1.5, I may have to go this route

I didnt like them cuz they didnt look right with the black plastic background and clear lenses. Fernando loves them though!!!
