'00 SLE V6 to '99 SE Manual A/C Control Swap????

Postby jmcale01 » Mon Mar 16, 2009 10:28 am

I hope you all can help. I have a '00 SLE V6 that I love, but have always wanted a manual. I found a '99 SE manual that I am interested in, however one thing that I am noticing is that my SLE's AC controls is digital/auto climate, etc...where the '99 SE has the standard dials etc. I was wondering if anyone knows if I could swap units from the '00 SLE to the '99 SE? Is it "plug and play" or would i need to swap something else to get it to work? Thanks for your help!!!

Yep, I wanted to swap my manual for the digitals. Shortly after joining SG I found out that I couldnt.

You already have the digitals, why do you want the manual???

i think he intends to buy a 99 SE 5 sp and swap his SLE climate control into it

I hear its pretty difficult to do =\
Essentially if you dont use the Automatic function of the climate control.. you really dont need it. Its just a fancy display for something basic

With me I like to set the climate control to 70 degrees and hit auto... which you can't do on the manual controls.

why not swap the 5spd into the SLE?

it'd probably be a little bit easier since you have a donor car for the swap, rather than trying to find all the peices for the tranny swap
