17" Tires - Firestone, Bridgestone, Yokohama?
Put this in here because I figured tires are pretty universal, even though I actually have a Camry.
When I bought the '07 SE, two of the tires were wearing out so the dealer swapped them for a pair of Yokohama Avid V4S's (215/55/17). The other two tires were still the stock Bridgestones which from what I'm reading are widely acknowledged as some of the worst OEM tires ever.
Decision time. Spring is coming up and it just can't come soon enough because I can't wait to get the summer tires and rims back on the car. I want to either get 2 more of the Yoko's or replace all 4 tires with something matched. They're $155 each installed per tire.
The Bridgestone Potenza G019 Grids, which replaced the G009s I had on the '03 Solara, would be $148 each installed per tire - a little more than I'm looking to spend right now. The Firestone Firehawk GT's are buy 3 get the 4th free at my local Firestone for around $120 a tire - result only $40 more than replacing just TWO of the Yoko's. The only thing is that I'm not sure how good they are. Anyone have any insight?
I've already checked the TireRack pages for all three tires. The Yoko's and the G019's are pretty much rated top of the line by Tirerack for High Performance All Seasons, higher than the Firestones. When it comes to the user ratings though, everyone seems to have good things to say about all three tires.
