Hood strut replacement for 1999 Solara

Postby PTSOLARA » Wed Mar 04, 2009 1:05 pm

I realized i need to replace my weak hood struts after bumping my heads a few times. Do any of you know that these struts are the same as the Camry's? The Camry's hood struts are cheaper for forever reason on ebay.

How difficult is it to replace these struts?

Im not sure if they are the same as the Camry, but you could call the local auto parts store and find out. Ive seen'em on ebay for $50 + shipping. Very simple to replace, just have someone hold up the hood and unbolt the old ones and bolt on the new ones. 8)

The last bump gave me a big bruise that lasted a few days (Ouch). that's when i realize i "gotta" have them swapped out. Local Autozone has it for $36.99 a piece. Ebay sells them from $20 to $60 for a set of two.
