Gen 1 tail lights on gen 1.5..help!

Ok, i'm replacing the tail lights on my car with the gen 1's. Everything was fine until I tried to get the turn signal light in the housing. The the notches on the plug are in a different pattern than the housing socket....notches on plugs are too close together to fit in the housing socket. Anyone else have this problem. I thought these were a straight replacement. Do I need to cut off one of the notches on the light plug?

I had the same problem with the light sockets not fitting into the housing. All I did was use a Dremel to make a slot for the light socket to go in....

I too had the same problem when I first installed Gen 1 lights on Gen 1.5 car. I ended up using a small file on the light socket. Just enough so the tabs would fit in then turn to lock into position. Just mark where the holes for the tabs should be then remove material slowly. Keep trying to install the bulbs every so often as you remove material from the sockets so they don't end up loose. Take it slow and you shouldn't have a problem. 8)

Cool, got it. I didn't remember ever reading anyone having this problem, so thought something was wrong. They're on now though. Thanks guys!
