well, before i rip my trunk apart how is the spoiler mounted, i want to take it off to get the "clean" look but is there bolts that hold it on? will there be holes in the trunk if i take it off?

i vaguely remember there being holes that the spoiler is mounted from. you'll probably have to have them filled.

hmm, why do you want to take off the spoiler, i personally thinks it gives the solara a cleaner look than not having it at all, every time i see one out on the street i always see it as if it is missing something good. Then again its what you like bro but i beleive it does leave holes, so your going to have to get them filled up.

yes there are two holes on the outer edges of either side of the truck lid. you could always redneck it and use jbweld to fill them holes'... j/k

The "clean" look you're after is what you'll get WITH the spoiler. I think these cars look like they're missing something without it.

also, if the stock spoiler has been on for several years, there may be some etching in the paint from where the spoiler touched the trunk.

similar to how you get minor paint etching of the emblems after you shave them off the trunk.

to me, the gen 1/1.5 solara looks funny without the oem spoiler.

i also dont think the car looks right w/o it.....

but.. if u do remove it, u can use rubbing compound to take off color difference but cleaning up the areas around it.
