**Update** -Completed Celica wheel swap into 99 Camry.

**Original Post**

Okay, so I've been waiting to do this for a long time and this baby just came in:

I've done my research and no one has posted how to correctly wiring up the cruise control. Here are both of the connectors:

Camry:

Celica:

So it looks like red is hot, black is ground for the Camry, and yellow is ground for the Celica. My dilemma is the Camry connector has a white wire plus another white wire with a black stripe, the Celica connector only has one white wire. Does anyone have any ideas with this? Should I just guess and check?

Thanks for looking! :P

Yep, different size, different mounting points, I can't just simply swap out the units, I need to figure out how to swap the connectors.

Too bad those TRD wheels aren't around anymore, but this looks like an even better idea if just bolts in. Getting a new airbag as well? Please take pics of the before and after. GL with the wiring.

It looks like red->red, white->white, black->yellow, and striped wire->?
a haynes manual in it's electrical diagrams might reveal where those wires all go...

^Those TRD wheels were EXPENSIVE as f***. I priced one through an old SC3/SG buddy Jay/J SWO, and it was at least 6-700 for that wheel minimum, plus overseas freight. Last one I saw on the 'Bay was about a grand. Aside from that, GL with the Celi wheel bro, hopefully you'll be one of the few who got the cruise to work (I know of only one other).

Go to the dealer and ask a mechanic to pull up the electrical diagrams for both vehicles...have him print them out and take them for the project. That's what I used to do if I had a question about a certain wire, although I knew the guy at the dealership fairly well, but they should still be able to help you.

Well after spending all of yesterday, trying to figure out how to splice the wires and actually splicing and resplicing, I've come to the personal conclusion, that the stalks are incompatible. I've decided to dremel the original Camry stock and squeeze it into the Celica wheel. It won't be completely horizontal, but I don't think it will make too much of a distraction. I'll post pictures when I'm finished.

**UPDATE**

I gave up on splicing the wires to use the Celica wheel cruise control stalk. Instead, I cut part of the inside of the wheel, and dremeled the Camry stalk to get that to fit. I screwed in the top mounting point, but since the mounting points don't line up, I used a penny as a spacer. Finally I used some silicone to make sure it stayed in place.

Here is the picture with the cruise in place:

Here is the wheel placed on the hub:

Looks very cool, but what have you done with the airbag?

Have you use the one from the Camry wheel?
