ACIS not working

ACIS not working

Postby Ilovemylara » Wed Feb 11, 2009 12:39 pm

Well I've noticed here recently that my car seem kinda "sluggish", the first thing I thought was "acis"... So I had my friend rev the engine to nearly redline while I had the hood up, and sure enough, nothing. My acis doesnt not function at all :( has anyone else expierenced this and how did u fix it. BTW I pulled the plastic cover off and all the vacum lines were intact and hooked up. Thanks guys, I really apreciate any info you guys can give me :)

I think yuo may have to have the car in gear for the ACIS to work, NOT in neutral.

not sure which is open or closed... the arm is pulled away from the little "stop" tab. I can easily turn the valve lever counterclockwise and it moves back to its original position, It does make a "fssss" sound when i do, as if there were a vacum leak or something

not too sure about the acis working when there's no load, since vacuum pressure isn't the same when under no load

the only memory that I have of it from when me and ratko were doing acis tests though, was that the acis does NOT open when not under load

a simple way to test this would be by doing a simple brake stand and seeing if the acis opens then.

but again, from my memory, the acis is as asg14 says, and it does not open when not under load, similar to the trd blower and boost

ACIS will work if under no load, at least mine does. Floor throttle hard for 1 second and it will open with a split-second lag time, doesn't stay open. I'm sure under load it stays open longer since the revs need time to come up. Use the throttle cable under the hood so you can watch the ACIS valve. There was also a mod done where the ACIS flow was enhanced by grinding down the rough casting protrusions.
