Yes I know theres a hundred topics on this and I've read through most of them. I have 17x8 wheels, I'd like to lower it as much as possible without rubbing even with passengers in it. Also coilovers are out of my price range.

I see a lot of you have gone with Tokico HP blues with either Eibach or Tein springs. I've read bad stuff about Sprint springs. Which spring is better in terms of drop and ride quality?

Any other good combos I should be aware of?

Also, where are good places to buy these new? Ebay of course but where else?

tokico hp blue with Tein springs gives u the best drop in quality wise.

I htink Sprint gives u a bigger drop but sometimes the rear is much lower than the drop. (im balance drop). Im uncertain about quality.

I would do ebay if i was you. Get a quality buyer with good feedback and buy from them. I buy majority of my parts off ebay just because of the prices.

17x8 is not too drastic but whats ur tire and offset so we know more information.

I dont think anything will rub in any way with just struts and springs. +1 for tein/tokico if you cant get coilovers.

Sprint springs suck as.s! They are worthless.
With Eibach you get an even drop 1.5F/1.5R
With Tein you get a bit lower stance up front 1.7F/1.5R

I have Monroe struts w/Tein S-Techs
I bought my springs brand spankin new. Right off the bat it dropped 1.75" up front and 1.5" in the back. I get a low aggresive stance and I can still take the corners very quick. You should also consider getting a TRD RSB if you dont already have one.

I have 17" rims as well with little bitty tires so Im gona wait and see how much more the springs will settle before I get some bigger tires. I might even upgrade to 18s, I dont know yet.

What size tires do you have?

If you're gonna go coilovers dont cheap out and get some ebay crap that is just springs on sleeves you slap on your struts. Go with JIC. Otherwise go with Tokicos and spring wise you prob. got a choice of Eibach, Tein, and H&R. Those are the more reputable brands anyway. I have Eibachs and like em. I think the drop is just perfect on my Camry. But from what I've read what others have posted, you cant go wrong with Tein or H&Rs.

Surprisingly enough, I rub like a motherf***er over moderate-to-severe dips and speedbumps and fast turns/corners, but this may also be due to my wheel offset. I have the Tein/Toki setup, with 18x8 wheels/225/40/18 rubber. Even so, I still do like my stance, and couldn't safely get any lower without coilovers. +2 for Tein S-Tech/Tokico HP.

A few questions Mr_Krispy1183

1. whats your offset?
2. are your fenders rolled? if not do you plan to?
3. do the tokico's let the car sit lower than other struts?

1.
+37 up front, +22 out back (15mm Ichiba spacers in the rear, wheels are all the same +37 spec all around so that I can rotate)

2. Rear fenders are rolled, might need a slight pull in the near future though so that I can set camber back closer to zero. Front fender liners might need a shave to alleviate rubbing on dips/cornering.

3. AFAIK, running just the struts alone should not provide any difference in ride height. I wouldn't know personally since I went straight from stock struts/springs to the Tein/Tokico combo.

^Fernando, so far so good. I got the whole shebang (minus the spacers which are a very recent addition) aligned at a shop back in October, so everything seems in order. I only set the rear camber more negative because the sidewall was so close to the rolled edge of the fender after the spacers were installed. I'll have it re-checked and set more properly after I find someone to give my rear fenders a little pull.

I love my TEIN S-Tech and TOKICO HP blue struts.
I have 17 x 7 rims and i only rub when i have passengers in my car, i guess i had neva rubbed in the rear until my springs had settled.

Is it odd that most of the threads Ive read that involve Tein/Tokico set up, their tires rub?
