Sick of solara cabin noise - sound reduction install?

What i mean is have you ripped out the whole interior and put in dynomat or some kind of butyl/asphalt product to the metal to reduce noise?

my cabin is so noisy and i would like it to be like luxury car quiet...

here is what i am thinking of purchasing
http://www.secondskinaudio.com/

im sorry but i am just sick of the noise coming from the solara. does anyone else have this problem or get annoyed, and please dont answer turn up the stereo 8)

yes i did a search and found one useful post but it didnt answer my question
im not doing this cause im getting a sound system, im just sick of the outside and rattling noises.

i do have tokico/eibach and 18 rims with low profile tires, obviously that will add some to the sound and bumpiness of the car. but has anyone who has done this noticed a really huge difference? its a massive project to undertake and expensive at that too!

i just want to make sure its worth it, any help or advice is greatly appreciated

best thing to try first is to dampen the firewall from the inside cabln and around the wheel wells.

ive used this stuff with good results...

Wow, I thought the solara was AMAZING for interior noise. Borrow my 240 for a week and be amazed!

I have heard good things about dynamat, but never used it for anything. Good luck!

I did my interior using Second Skin Audio products and am happy. Did the entire floor and rear deck. Products are GREAT quality. And yes, there was a decent difference.

Never thought my car was noisy, but at 9 years and 110,000 miles she does have a fair amount of rattles. (mostly coming from the doors, the lower dash, glove box and headliner by the sun visors)

I have thought about adding sound reduction material, but I don't want to add excessive weight. Are there any foam options out there?

Try swapping tires and wheels with another car just for a half hour. See if the noise you are getting is from the tires or through the chassis. Tires play a huge part in the cabin noise.

Harder compound tires are as forgiving as wagon wheels. Check the wear rating on the sidewall to understand how hard the compound is.

Worn tires have more contact surface with the road. Summer tires tend to be louder than all season or winter tires. Get the idea?

Also, how is your tire pressure? Too high will also result in increased noise.

Is the noise at one specific period? Highway driving ( Like 1800 - 2200 rpm. ) Have you changed the exhaust or removed anything from the underside of the car?

Foam is too light to be an effective dampener. Keep in mind that the mat materials add weight to the panels because it then takes more energy to move them. To add an equivalent weight of foam would require a VERY thick coating. Closed cell foam isn't a good alternative, either, since moisture would collect in it and be very difficult to remove.

Keep in mind that you don't need to add huge amounts of the sound dampening pads to be effective. The wider spaces - under the back seat (rear tire noise), floor boards, firewall (front tire/engine noise), and trunk will do the most good. If you're feeling frosty, taking out the headliner and hitting the roof will help TREMENDOUSLY. It's one big wide panel and there is very little weight on it unlike the floor, which has seats and you weighing it down.

I took the interior out of an old car of mine (95 Taurus - car ran like brand new until the day I sold it, so no hating!) and it was like night and day. I bought 6 sheets of unmarked dynamat, and proceeded to do the floor, roof, rear seat area, and exhaust tunnel. Added about 40# to the car, but it's not made for speed. The quiet was nice!
