Keys with/without transpondes?

The laser keys for Lexi's are about $200 for the ones with built in fobs, $150 for valets, and programming them to the vehicle is $150. Don't ask my why I know this ;)

And hari is right - no plastic trim on the top should mean no transponder. You can get them from Fleabay or if you know someone at a shop that can Howard keys, you can get them for about $8.

Oh, and if you go to have a remote start put in, don't believe the hype that you need to lose a key. Ask them to get the correct module so that you don't have a key in the car that defeats the purpose of having a transponder.

The DEI 555T is designed for Toyota/Lex (that's the T designation), Autopage has their own, as do Omega, Falcon, and a few others. For those without manufacturer specific modules, the 555U can be used, but you may lose a key. It's not as big a deal with a Solara as it is with some of the more expensive laser cut keys. I don't think I'd be particularly happy if I got 2 keys with the car and had to tie up one in the little ignition "coffin" to get a remote start.
