Long story short: the auto tranny should be able to hold quite a bit of HP (300+) before things start going bad

The trans should be able to hold anywhere from 220 - 250 whp....if ur lookin to put more power u can always get the valve body upgrade...but then agian, if ur gonna spend that kind of money, might as well do a manual swap!?

My transmission slips very slightly when hot in the first to second gear change now (when not babying the change).

That is with only 4psi and the ebc. But for some reason i still get some boost in first with everything wired up properly.

synthetic ATF and a huge trans cooler will do wonders!

Scroll down on that link and you will find a "valve body" for $619 easy enough to install yourself. Or have a trans shop do it for probably around $200. Far less than a manual swap. Now a fully built trans is more of a comparison. Tony the Tiger has one of their built transmissions, but he has significantly more than 300hp. Along with the aforementioned cooler and synthetic trans fluid, I think you would be set. I have an extra trans from a '99 Solara that I was going to do the same thing to. But, I bought something else.
Got Boost?? :sweet:

Well, this is true, but u have to send them UR valve body and then they modify it and then send it back to u. I live close by so i would just have to drive there....

the valve body upgrade will only help the tranny last a bit longer- by not holding the shifts for the amount of time that the stock design would hold the shifts for, a valve body upgrade helps deal with the extra heat that is produced during shifting- but it does not deal with that (yet again) weak 2nd gear sprag that seems to eventually snap with higher power applications

so in the end, for a daily driver that gets beat on and you want oem reliability on- either get a built auto tranny or do a 5speed swap
