Need help looking for a Rim

Need help looking for a Rim

Postby mrrayrodriguez » Mon Jan 12, 2009 2:37 am

Hey guys i have a problem that i was hoping someone could help me with. I recently hit a pothole which cracked my rim beyond repair, and apparently purchasing a new rim is out of the question because they no longer make my rims!! I have Gianelle V5 black rims, they have a new model which doesn't look the same. So i wanted to know if they made a 18" rim that looks like a spare tire rim (the plane look), because my tire is still good there was no damage done to it. I want to put my actual spare in the trunk just in case something else happens, so i wont be SOL. I can't seem to find any, so if anyone can help i would appreciate it. I really don't want to purchase a new set of rims, since my car is already old and i don't want to put any more money into it. Thanks again

go to local wheel shops and ask around....especially the big chains who have contacts in warehouses and give them the full specs for your wheels so they can look for you.

I got lucky that way a number of years back when the same situation happened to me, except that it was cuz my wheel/tire shop found a crack in one of my rims after they dismounted a set of tires, and it took them an entire day (with the car in their shop), but they were able to find one wheel that I needed even though it had be discontinued for couple years at that point

^^^Ditto. Same thing happened to me last fall and I call all the wheel shops in town. They ended up finding me a new matching rim in a warehouse in Dayton. Makes it easier though if it was recently discontinued.
