EGR problem solved.... Then I cried

EGR problem solved.... Then I cried

Well I had the car looked at today by the dealer and found out the reason I was getting my EGR codes. Reason being there was a vacuum line that was pinched under the plastic cover causing the EGR valve to either stay open or closed. Well that problem was hopefully solved. But then I had them do a safety inspection and well my joy suddenly went to depression. She failed. I have a bad Rack and Pinion and the Upper power steering pressure hose were both leaking. that was the only thing that failed me. Well the cost of the repair is going to be $1300 to fix her. Well it looks like the Lara will not be getting registered until I can get it fixed. This is truly a sad day for me.

Hello wash, wax, and cover.

For now.

Can't you get a second opinion? It seems to me contradictory that they do a safety inspection and not an independent third party. They could possibly say your fuel injected lug nuts need to be replaced and charge you an arm and leg.
What's your mileage BTW?
Got Boost?? :sweet:

That's true, I am going to power wash the underside of the car with some Simple Green and let it dry, and take it to a local shop and see what they say.

UPDATE: CEL went back on for the EGR. Looks like I am replacing the valve. But I might try the sensor 1st.

FI lug nits.. ROFL! I hope I'm not that stupid...LOL! Mt milage is 89XXX
