Non-synthetic motor oil

Hello all,

I was just wondering what types of motor oil all of you use. I'm going to do an oil change soon and I just wanted to get an idea of what to use. I was going to go with valvoline, but convince me otherwise. Any helpful responses are appreciated, Thanks!

My car is a 99, about 116k. Daily ride, to go work, no highway. I've put synthetic oil for the first time this winter, and the car start quicker. I live in Canada, pretty cold in winter. Regular oil become almost solid when the engine is cold, so the starter try harder to start the engine, and for the first seconds the engine is not lubricate because of that. My car start at first try very quickly since I've put synthetic oil. It cost me about $18 more then regular oil.

I took "Formula 1" from "motomaster". http://www.canadiantire.ca/browse/produ ... cd48f85e1d

I read that it's a good choice for our "old" engine, more because of our sludge issue.

Go with AMSoil. Run it for 10k then change it. The key to its awesomeness is the oil filter, you've got to have it. Find somewhere you can get it, its about 11 bucks a quart but well well well worth it. Check it out on google, I think you'll be surprised.
