I, too, am worried about sludge and need to change my vc gasket anyway. Kinda worried what I'll find...

So what kind of symptoms are there when you have sludge??? I was thinkin' about taking my valve cover off but I don't want to feel like it's something I should do right away unless there is total ergancy.

From what I've heard....alot of smoke. More people can tell you more on that topic, but the one piece of advice I'll give you is...DON'T pull your valve cover unless you have a new gasket for it. I promise you the old one will leak, never fails. They're cheap, so just pick another one up.

yeah me too I am not taking any chances I already felt the pain of replaceing my tranny and I am flushing both out this following week. lol

Looks pretty easy to me....


The rear gasket is much harder to replace because the intake is in the way.
