Lip Kit Scrapes

Lip Kit Scrapes

How do you Gen 1/1.5 guys hold your side skirts up? I keep using 3M double sided tape but it always seems to come off and ultimately drags on the rear ends. The front ends are screwed on where the mudguards used to be so no scrapes there. Also, how high did you install your lip kits. Maybe I'm not putting them on properly. I'll try to post some pictures later. I appreciate any help. Thanks guys.

3m tape will only help so much. screw in your kit. or you are sol later on.
even oem kits from the dealer are screwed in with 3m tape.

my kit on the car is screwed in too. thought of it back then when I first installed it if I should or not but now it's like common sense that you should.

But for those who love,

Did you clean the area to be taped really good with rubbing alcohol? Did you use the adhesive promoter? If done correctly it should be on there for good. I only have mine screwed in where the mud guards used to be and the rest is just taped. I would seriously have to pry mine off. I hit a small animal on the freeway right on the driver's side front lip and nothing happened to the kit. It popped the fog light out but the kit wasn't even loose.
