Daym, thats scary to think that it can happen at any possible time. I read the other postings and links to others that have had that problem. They all seem to snap at the welds 3/4 of the time during cornering and one instance going up a hill.

I wonder if this is only an issue with JIC's on the Impreza's/STI's. I only know of those on this forum that have had issues with blown coils and defective mounts.

They're talking about free replacements? Screw that. I wouldn't want those on my car.

Part failure like that would barely be acceptable if he was flogging it around a track all day, every day. High performance parts should be just that...

well Im rockin them, no issues thus far, except for the clunking sound on my passenger rear, I have inspected everything thoroughly, and I think my Greddy exhaust is knocking against the frame or something... or maybe the upper mount is bad.... either way, this seems to be STI specific, and I did know of some of JIC's faults, but let's face it, the suspension makes our cars extremely responsive, and accurate on turns.
Geeks get it done, while Nerds whimper and call for mommie.

it was or is not STI specific... How the AW11 Suspension rust up on my friend with in a Year. I'm talking rusted solid where he couldnt make anymore adjustment.

And before you say he didnt keep the coilover clean. The AW11 only saw a few track days and driven only when theres alot of sun shine. And spent most of its days in the Garage.

I had 2 friends with AE86's with the same spring rates and same setup. They were both different in the way how stiff it was. EXACTLY !!! the same coilover system set up by the same guy. And one rode stiffer and more responsive than the other one...

Had mine for 5+ years now and so far so good.

I do have the same weird knocking noise in the passenger rear though. Probably the upper mount screws. its just that its a pain to remove the entire rear interior just to get to it.
