Ok guys, so I just ordered a pair of 6000k HID bulbs from VVME via ebay, for $70 shipped. Will probably come in by the end of the week... I'm a newb when it comes to HID installation, so I'll be asking for help with the ballast placement and all that.

A buddy of mine said that you can just zip tie the ballasts to a secure location. true?

zip tie, yes...but make sure u have some backing on the back of the ballast so it doesnt contact any surface of the car directly. U can zip tie or bolt them down with a screw.

the hid kit from vvme comes with everything u need for installation.
search the forum for "ballasts" you will find a couple of posts refering to where to install them. Passanger side is easy, there's a spot on the side perfect for them. i put the driver side under the battery, there a whole there already made for the screw

Ok so installed the kit today. Found that place under the battery, very nice place. and the right ballast i hooked onto the the anti-freeze tank (the same bolt that it uses). fairly nice set-up. everything went pretty smooth.

A lot of people say that, but I never noticed anything. My ballast, both of them contacts the body of the car and nothing crazy happens... The HID's still work. I got a friends too who has HID's and their ballast is also contacting the body of the car. Any idea?

Yea, mine are contacting the body directly, and no problems. What do you need the relay kit for? The VVME lights come with everything you need.

hey Solaraman, sounds like you got the kit in and everything works great. Just wanted to see if you had any updates on the quality. I was just reading in some other posts about them dimming and/or flickering but I wanted to see what you though firsthand.

Also, sounds like the seller you purchased it from on eBay did well. What was his seller name? If I do decide to purchase them I will get it from him.

Thx..

i heard these things heat up... so you might want to make sure the ballast doesnt melt your tank

I can vouch for VVME, I got them in my car. My friend got it on her car too. Doesn't fade of flicker. We both got the 4300K version.
