Hey does anyone know the legality issues of me putting a big TRD logo on the Engine cover?

Or is it something that i even need to worry about since i'll probably max be making 20

Any help would be nice!! Thanks!

I'm not a lawyer or anything but as long as you don't try to market the engine cover as an authentic TRD one, then there shouldn't be a problem. Besides, you are only selling to us, not general consumers. Also, when you said logo, do you mean a decal or engraving?

Thanks for your advise! i was thinking if it was going to be an issue, i could send the engine cover and a decal sticker that the customer could stick on themselves.

Decalling most likely.....engraving might get to expensive but would look pretty cool. Actually I'm going to look into that.

Thanks again,

Ok so after lots of thought, talking to my machinist and a buddy that was almost screwed over by Nissan, i have decided to not us any trademark. a friend was doing the same thing on a 300z forum and had to deal with a huge headache with Nissan. I'd rather play it safe and just send out the polished covers.

By the way, spoke to the guy I'm using for polishing and he showed me samples of how it will turn out, i can guarantee you, it will blow the TWS polish out of the water. It will have a mirror like polish to it. I just sent him exact dimensions of the part so he will give me his charge soon hopefully.

^^cool, keep us updated.

Oh, and just for $hits and giggles, could you ask him how much it would be to have one eteched (sp?), i.e. TRD. I understand the whole "mass" production circumstances, but what about onezies and twozies?

Well after trying a few different fabricators, polishers and one stop shops i decided on who to use based on quality and price. They were both the best in quality and price but the only thing i am worried about is timeliness on the fabricator.

He said it will take him about a week or so to get started and might take him another 2 weeks to finish. His work is really reliable. This is a small and fairly simple piece but I don't want to send out shabby engine covers to everyone after such a long wait. I wouldn't sell anything that i wouldn't put on my car.

Enough of the small talk, the price is going to be $80 plus shipping and paypal fee for a mirror like polished engine cover.

This will be show quality, will include screws and will not have any logos or designs unless you want to do it yourself.

That's the best I can do with 14 covers. Most shops prices were out of control for a number like 14 so I uped the number to 20 and came out with $80.

Please let me know if this price works for everyone and if there are any new buyers! i will update or create a new thread as soon as possible..

Hope you guys are still interested and sorry for the long delay...trying to do 100 things at once.

Thanks for sticking along,
Rimal
