Bosch OEType O2 Sensor / P0171

I just replaced this tonight and reset the battery. I'm about to drive cycle it tonight. Question I have is, for anyone that installed a bosch O2 sensor (federal spec) do you remember your sensor looking like this?:

Left (Bosch) vs Right (OEM):

They obviously look completely different. I asked one of the guys that works at the autozone near my place and I asked him if the parts have to look exactly the same and he said not necessarily. I agree tho that the parts don't have to look exactly alike as long as they do the same job.

Well, we'll find out tonight..

keep your eye on it. the oxygen sensors were an item that people recommended using OEM (Denso), because the bosch would go bad relatively quickly (for some reason)....

i've had a blown O2 sensor for a while now, but haven't changed it out yet because of my intake problems....lemme know if the bosch brand holds up, of it it throws another CEL at you in the near future.

Dun Dun Dun.... P0171 is back.

After driving it around for about 80 miles these past few days, the light hasn't turned on. Then this morning on my way to campus, the light comes back on. What is going on??

I took it to autozone to have it scanned and Bank 1 is running lean again. is it really the part??

Im running fuel injector cleaner (they have a special 2 for $5 STP brand) to see if its my injectors. But i am almost positive it cant be the sensor because its brand new. at least give me 1000 miles at least before itll go bad if the whole "Bosch on Toyota" stigma is really true.

Anyone have any thoughts? If I have a vacuum leak where do I check? I removed my intake and cleaned the inside of it and carefully replaced all the lines on it. cleaned the MAFsensor, changed sparkplugs, and Im still throwing the same exact code as if I never did anything.

That part is WRONG. Same thing happened with my friend's Accord. Autozone sold him that O2 sensor, looks nothing like the stock one, code came back minutes after turning on the engine. I told him to return it and got a proper sensor online.

Definitely the wrong part. Autozone does have the right Bosch one. I replaced both of my 02 sensors last year with Bosch and they have worked just fine. I think people got a bad perception with Bosch because they made the same mistake as you and were given the wrong one. I think the right product number is 13355.

Did your bosch sensors look like the stock piece? Cuz 13355 is the part I got. The serials on the box and part matched and everything. O well, I already returned it and bought a denso one online. i love bosch parts but I guess this is the one circumstance. :-?

I'm sorry, I gave you the wrong number as well. The bosch sensor I got DID look exactly like the stock piece. I wish I would have kept the boxes because it seems like this topic comes up often. The denso one will work just great. Are you replacing the front or back sensor? Because when I replaced the back it was difficult. Just preparing you.
