Polished ENgine Cover for gen 1-1.5 (Similar to TWS)

Postby Remmi909 » Thu Oct 09, 2008 11:58 am

Waddup everyone!!! it's been a while since i last posted or even mentioned this but i was previously selling my TWS engine cover and got a whole lot of interest so i decided to see if i could get it duplicated.

Well after months of me lagging, other projects(1973 240z) and my machinist being out with personal issues i finally got things rolling again.

He's got everything ready for me and is ready to start pumping these out but before he does he wants to get a final number for the first batch. The higher the number the lower the price!!!

If there is enough interest, i will have him make a prototype in the next week or so but if not, then I'll just scratch the idea.

The engine cover will basically be identical to mine in the picture below just without the TWS logo. I can either keep them without a logo or add a logo. If you want something custom then i can see if that can be done. Machining a logo will be really expensive but stickers shouldn't be to much. Also, if you want it anodized a certain color, i can see what i can do.

Logo/design ideas - TRD, Toyota, SG.org, Solara, Picture of Milts face....you guys get the idea!

If interested please add your name to the list with preferred Logo, Color if not polished, and Zip code

sorry i knew i forgot something.

based on what i was told by my machinist, the price is looking somewhere around $80 but thats pending on number of orders and i still actually have to get cost on polishing these.

Also, whatever the cost is if you want yours anodized if i can find a quality shop.

I bought mine for $95 way back in the days so i think $80 is a fair price for something that will be better fabricated and possibly customized. My TWS cover could have been polished better.

THIS IS JUST A BALLPARK THOUGH!! OTHER DETAILS WILL AFFECT THE PRICE BUT I WILL KNOW FOR SURE AS SOON AS I GET MORE NUMBERS.

I'm also very interested in buying one. Quick question, how will I attach it on my engine? I'm asking because it seems like the two bolts on the OEM engine cover is permanently stuck to it so I can't reuse them. Also, I noticed that the original cover also has clips on the underside that hook onto the metal lines/hoses on top of the engine head so will this new cover have them too?

Thanks for reminding me about that. I'll supply the screws. They were a pain in the ass to find, it took me many trips to many hardware, body shops and auto stores to find them. ended up finding them at a Plumbing store. I jsut hope they still have them.
