I have a 2003 solara with 16 inch wheels and purchased 2007 toyota rims which are 17x7. I looked up the 2007 rims on a website for tires and there recommendation is 215x45's, another site states, 215x50. The offset of these 2007 wheels is 45. What would be the most logical size to use.

215/50/17 is the closest you can get to the factory diameter of the OEM wheels and therefore should be the best choice.

You can also squeeze 225/45.
2000 Solara SE auto V6. Diamond White Pearl.
Top Speed Run finished at 130 mph. :o
Too many modifcations for the signature.

yup, this is the best choice. it's actually a smidge bigger than stock diameter. you can play around with this to experiment with different tire sizes.
