New '06 SLE V6 Convertible Owner

Postby bryanc » Sat Sep 20, 2008 3:25 pm

Hello everyone,

I'm a proud new owner of an Arctic Frost Pearl '06 SLE Convertible, all stock, and rather unexpectedly, I might add. A friend of mine bought this car brand new, but due to tight finances, she couldn't keep up with the payments. As a consequence, rather than lose the car, she decided to pass it on to me - I essentially got this car for $15k.

She's got 33k miles on her (referring to the car here), with a Platinum service contract with the dealer up to/'til 100k miles/2012 (was this contract worth her spending? I wonder...)

In my opinion, Solaras are very beautiful to begin with, so I most likely will not be doing any body mods to this baby, save for reversible changes like wheels, LED tail lights, and bulb replacements.

Oh, and of course, that 2008 4-disc OEM MP3 Nav Unit is just calling out to be installed (JBL with no mp3 makes me a sad, sad person).

On the perf side, I have no experience with dealer's warranties vs. perf parts, so I'm a bit on the nervous side with regard to that - no doubt I'll find the info I need in the thousands of threads here.

I haven't even been on this site one day and I've already learned so much.

See you peeps around!

Welcome to SG. Good price. You could always go with a Short ram or Cold air intake.. completely reversible, and i don't think it would void your 100k warrenty

TRD FSTB and RSB's - more stuff to put on the list! Sometimes it feels like it's true - don't start because it's hard to stop! :) But many thanks for the info! Keep 'em coming!
