jesus....wtb blacked out housings/corners + story...
another year and another incident.
after my last year here at JMU, my car was hit in a hit and run, and then keyed later on in the year.
well, its the end of the first week back and it just wouldnt be JMU if some crap didnt happen to me and my car.
today, i was pulling onto the main road in town by campus going uphill. Theres a hill that blinds traffic on the right side, in the direction i needed to go, (uphill). so as i pulled up to it today, (i make this turn multiple times daily) i rolled up and stopped as i looked first to the right and then to the left down hill to watch for oncoming traffic (which flies up this damn road).
WELL behind that nice little hill on the right that obstructs your view there was a chick on a bike flyin down the hill going the opposite direction of traffic. . . .
about a second after i stopped moving i hear a bike tire screeching and then turn to look in time to see a very VERY surprised/scared girl flying midair over her handle bars and onto my hood. . .
LUCKILY she was 90% ok, apparently her bad luck had been a continuance from the previous 2 weeks when she had totaled her car and injured her foot... which she complained about so we took her to the ER and they x-rayed, there wasnt anythin else wrong but they think her foot might have been broken, i didnt stick around to see the results of the xrays, it was awkward enough sitting in the wiating room with her boyfriend. Police didnt blame anyone, said it was just a freak accident, no one was at fault.
this crap happens every year at the same spot, for the past 3 years i've seen it happen 2 times myself and heard of it more times then i can count, and yet after happening to me i feel like it really is almost unavoidable. just a bad incident of dumb luck.
getting a claim on the damage to my car this week, but she cracked my corner housing and i figured it would be a good excues to just get my blacked out housing now since the front will probably be repainted too.
