Milwaukee Shop

Milwaukee Shop

Postby GzNutz » Sat Aug 23, 2008 1:19 pm

Can anyone point me in the direction of a good shop in Milwaukee or w/in an hour of the city that would be reasonable to get some springs installed?

I attempted to remove the driver side front only to find the wonderful effects of salt on bolts...ie. rounded heads. Rather than waste more time creating a bigger mess I would like to just let a shop handle it. Unfortunately I've made several calls and the lowest I've gotten quoted for is 5-6hrs = $500 with me supplying the springs. I know that price is bullsh!t and am sure there is a much cheaper alternative other than diy.

So if anyone has an alternative or a hook up, I would be very grateful!
Thanks

Sears item# 00952165000 Mfr. model# 52165
It's more satisfying DIY dont forget to pickup an oncar spring compressor or borrow one from auto zone

Thanks for that tip. I had already picked up the compressor, but I'll have to go check out that bolt-out tomorrow.

There's a product called PB Blaster. It is by far the best pentrating solution on the market. I can't tell you how many times we have had rusted fasteners and afer 24 hrs they come apart with hand tools. Don't get me wrong, it isn't a fix all for corrosion but is still some pretty good stuff.
