engine running rich? :(

engine running rich? :(

Postby Ilovemylara » Mon Aug 18, 2008 8:15 pm

Okay here's the story.. I bought a cheap ebay SRI, I installed it and because I'm an idiot i threw away the stock intake crap (a harsh lesson learned). Now I'm almost positive based on what i've been told that my engine is running rich. can you guys help me out please? reasons why i think its running rich:
- more engine vibration like when i turn off my engine the whole car vibrates for a split sec.
- stumbles sometimes under very hard acceleration
- exhaust gas smells somewhat more like gas than before
possible drop in MPG
I'm not sure what i should do, but I'm open to any and all ideas as this car is my daily driver :) Oh btw its the 1mz-fe
Thanks in advance

Just find a stock intake and put it back on.

Or find a legit aftermarket intake (Injen, CP-E).

You could work around the eBay POS, but I wouldn't know how.

things like the intake where ur maf is on...shouldnt be over looked with a cheap ebay intake. Ur stock intake > ebay intake.

Just do what 'ThatVietGuy' suggested, get a Injen intake.

i defiantly will do that then.. Most likely a CP-E. thanks a lot.. I've had that on my mind all day. The fact that I am losing MPG and horsepower over a mod. So a good branded CAI or SRI shouldn't screw with your maf/o2 etc?
