I'm planning on running my cp-e intake without the blackbox and using a SAFC2 instead. My problem is figuring out the low throttle values so that the MAF sensor is happy in the larger 3.5" piping. I'm not sure how the tuneable blackbox works, but for those of you that have it...

Could someone check to see what the pre-set values are? I don't even know if these values are displayed in the cp-e program, but if I can duplicate that on my SAFC2 I might just be able to re-install my intake.

I already tried contacting cp-e concerning this, and let's just say they aren't forthcoming in divulging this information. I know they spent hours on the dyno making their kit work, and they aren't too keen about the SAFC2. I will make it worth someone's effort if they can help me with this.

can't help you there...

but why not sell your cpe for the money that it's worth and pick up a CAI or make your own? the gains will be the same if not more since the air will be cooler than the short ram that the cpe is, and as you said, the safc will take over the black box settings

It really boils down to aesthetics. I also prefer how the cp-e intake mounts to the engine bay compared to anything else available for the solara. In all honesty, my dyno #'s were acceptable enough to forego an aftermarket intake all together, but if I can make my intake work I would be happy. If not, I'll sell it and stay stock.

You should be able to run the program on your laptop and load up the map that's on the CD and see the value.
I the low values are -5.

I don't have the tuneable version, so I can't see any of the values on a laptop. I basically just need the correction values for each interval of rpm. Is it -5 accross the board?

That's exactly what I was looking for. Just to confirm, this is the base map before your tune?

This goes into quite a bit more detail than the SAFC2, so I hope I'll be able to reproduce this.

yea thats the base tune.. and ur right it goes more in depth than the safc. it has more tuning points than the safc. thats why i decided to go with the tunable.

however it is easier to tune with the safc. If u were interested u could trade in ur non tunable to cpe for a tunable for 150$.

I've been toying with the idea of switching over to the tuneable maf customizer, especially since it's cheaper than the SAFC2. We'll see how my R&D goes with the cp-e intake and SAFC2.

Thanks for the help!
