installing stage 2 clutch with problem

Postby corlon » Tue Aug 12, 2008 2:51 pm

99 solara w/ v6 and 5-spd. had tranny shop install new stage 2 clutch and claim it doesn't fit. they said there isn't enough throw of the clutch to disengage and the plate with the three rivets on it needed to be ground down to fit. wondering if anyone has heard of this problem. thanks.

Spec makes high quality clutches. I don't think you can blame this one on the manufacturer...sounds like either the wrong clutch was ordered or the mech. doesn't know what he's doing.
