8/24/08 Elmhurst, IL Toyota Car Show

Well guys, I may have failed...

I had in my head that the show was like the 28th or something, so alicia made plans for us to stay with our friend and spend labor day weekend in chicago. Well, of course, thats the weekend AFTER the show. I could probably go both weekends, it just sucks... a lot of driving and a lot more money now. Not really a chance of switching the weekends since everything is already set and people have made plans for other weekends.

I really want to meet everyone and get to the show, so Im hoping I will still be able to right now... itll be by myself, but that doesnt really bother me... Im gonna keep looking at the schedule and try my best to make it out there to meet everyone!

I know that thread title threw you off! LOL.

It's worth the trip even if no GF is coming. I'm planning to head out of Ypsi on friday am or early afternoon. Let me know your plans. Perhaps we can roll together.

Awh man... You have to still come. We had a blast at our solaraguy meet here in Ohio last month and there were less people. Plus how often do you ever get hang out with a bunch of people who have an interest in the same car as you drive. Also whens the last time youve seen 15 or so MODIFIED solaras in one place? Im coming solo too just because my Fiancee wants nothing to do with hanging in a dealership parking lot while I gawk over cars and talk about cars all day!

Just booked my hotel. Im going to stay at the Marriott next the Elmhurst dealership! See you all there, I should be in town mid afternoon! Tacti give me a call if you decide to leave Saturday for any reason.

I was thinking about after the show... anyone want to get together for a drink or two and some food before people hit the road. Not like a bar but a Fridays, Hooters, or similar.

Anyone have any input on this?

Im thinking about getting a hotel for saturday night and chilling with you guys... just trying to decide what i can afford right now. Trying to keep my gram lights and get new tires before the show

Im not going to get in until Saturday Afternoon. I plan on getting into town between 1 and 2pm and hitting up a do it yourself car wash right away. Ill check in and then come find all you guys. Anybody can PM me for my cell number. Im going to leave Sunday after the show. I have to work the next day.

By the way can anybody post locations of some do it yourself car washes in the Elmhurst area?

Judging is purely optional. Mike C didn't enter his the last time I went and he should have. The point is the meet, not the car show judging.
