I cannot afford new rims right now but i was thinking about modifying my current ones. I was thinking of getting the rims painted (professionally of course) in certain spots I just need some input from some fellow SGs. I was planning on painting the inner part of the rim black. (red arrows point to it)

But I am also planning on leaving the front part of the the rim stock. The machined, unpainted part. (blue arrows point to it)

I was too lazy and had too bad of photoshop skills to do the whole wheel but I would want each inner portion to be painted like this:

If anyone has the time I would like to see a better photoshop of it... IDK if i should do that or just paint the whole rim black... Any input would be great.

I don't like this idea. Keep stock rims like I do and when you will find a deal, go for new rims. Our stock 16" rims were great in 1999 but in 2008 they look a bit boring, I don,t think you can do something to help. Search for Gen2 17" rims, they look very great on Gen1 Solara, you will keep the OEM quality and look.

i say do the same as above mentioned
keep these rims like im doing
get some nice rims for cheap
and trust me u will get bored of rims no matter how great they are
so thats when you have your old 16s handy slide them on till your done trading your other rims for the next big thing

money+time for that idea no worth it
UNLESS U GET IT GOLD PLATED AND DEEP DISHED'
THEN IT'LL ROCKKKKK BUT THATS ALSO another couple of grands

LOL, right I cant. Not new wheels and tires at least. At my local S&S Tire they were trying to charge me $1580 for a new set of tires and wheels that I wanted! And thet was even with a dealer's discount! I sure cant afford that... I bought these for half of that...
