Welcome!
There are a few people who have done it but to Gen 1's.
I'm not sure how many of them have painted the 1.5's.
I know you can buy blacked out ones online a lil pricey though.

I did mine. havent showed much pictures of my car recently but it was easy.

Allu need is heat gun adn flat head screw drivers.

I just heated as needed for it to budge, then used scfrew drivers to seperate it. Then unhook the little tabs thats connects the two pieces (back and front cover). As the glue pulls when u seperate it, use the heat gun to make it seperate. Job gets sorta dirty but shouldnt be too bad. Then u take out the chrome cover and spray it with flat black paint. couple coats, then let it sit. Reinstall. REheat the glue and ur done.

give it a try. Just make sure u heat it good. and also, its not that hard to break the headlights, i use bunch of muscle and pulls to seperate them.

Its really easy and it shouldn't variate that much from the tutorial for the Gen 1. A good example of a Gen 1.5 with black housing on Black Solara would be Astro's Ride. May that Solara RIP.... damn....
