Sylvania Silverstar Bulbs VS. OEM Bulbs w/ PICS

I just installed some Sylvania Silverstar Headlights in my Gen 1 today and just wanted to show you the difference. Most of you already have aftermarket bulbs in but for you who dont you need to look into it because it is quite a difference. I dont have the money now but in a month or two I will probably install hids and i will also do a comparison on those too. Here are the comparison pics:

This one is during the day so it is not as noticable. Siverstar on the LEFT and OEM Yellow on the RIGHT.

I did have OEM bulbs in my fogs and headlights. Now I just have OEM's in my fogs. On the the road my Silverstars definetely outshine and "outcolor"(i guess? lol) my fogs.

BTW: These bulbs are 4000k while standard bulbs are only 3100k
(Most HID bulbs are about 6000k)

For the money I think silvestars are great and do a great job without having to retrofit the projector for HID.

I love my HIDs but if there was a H11 silverstar ultra for my gen 2, I would have never bought HIDs.

I have Sylverstar for headlights and fogs for a year now. One of my H4 bulb died, so I went back to my philips H4.. my goshh what a difference..I was like a blind in the night..really. Also my fogs were looking "white" and my headlights "yellow" on the house's white fence.

I went to the store to buy another H4 bulbs, almost $30..wow tomorrow I will go back to the store with the old bulb and say that my new bulb burned in a week to get my money back .. (shame on me) I got 2 tickets 2 weeks ago $900 (speed ticket, forgot to pay licence plate, towing) so Im kind of low as you can see.

I like Sylvertsar but doesn't seem to last very long. Now I see well again at night. I would buy HID if I was on stock bulbs, but it cost 2x or 4x more.

ive experimented with all kinds of bulbs personally before HID including a set that had the exact color of HID ( but not the brightness )
I tried silverstars, ultras, luminics, K2 ( i think ), PIAA and numerous other brands and I gotta admit those aftermarket bulbs burn out really really fast. With the money I spent on all my different halogen setups I could have easily afforded HID
If youre experiencing bulbs burning out fast, just save yourself the headache and spend a little more for HID, even if it isnt in your immediate budget, its worth saving up for
Or if you have the money get a projector retro. Easily the best lighting mod ive ever done.

Mr_Chunkz's HID retrofit is fu**** nice, amazing light cutoff.

My friend has a 2008 mazda 3, we put 5000K HID on it, wow so clear on the road. love the cutoff, it hypnotize You forget to watch the road.

HID are cheaper $$ now, next time Im gonna get one set,
for now Im low and one bulb burned. I already have sylverstar fogs and headlights, so I got another for **free**.


If you can buy HID, try it.
