It's a common problem that everyone with gen3/4 Camry v6 seem to be facing with magnaflow mufflers (stock exhaust system) that the sound goes loudest only at 2000-2500rpm, right at cruising rpm's. Because of it at cruising rpms, whenever we cruise the low deep sound keep going and going and so we call that droning. Very annoying because 2000-2500rpm on the highway is like 55-75mph, right when it gets somewhere >3000rpm the sound goes away, it's actually quiet to go 85mph than 75mph.![]()
Initial thoughts are restrictive exhaust system (headers, y-pipe, pipes), so I was wondering if this would help free up the exhaust and actually let it only roar at high rpms instead of just 2000.
