Nice Celica.
Man does that Solara need some help bad. :o

I think the Solara is actually in good shape. By that I mean it's easy fixes, engine and bumper. Anything else can be done almost free.

I already took out the headlights and grille, they were my project for the weekend. I painted the grille and buffed out and re-glued some tabs onto the headlights.

After I got out of work on Fri I started taking the motor apart and getting ready to pull the head off. Rounded a bolt for the dogbone mount which I need to get out to pull the timing cover off. Will start there today maybe.

Some new pictures of the headlights buffed out and the grille painted. I just painted it silver, it's good enough for now.

Compared to the pictures in the first post they are soo much better. It still needs a bumper but I think I'm going to wait until I get it running first.

thanks :D

I did get the mount bolt out. The owner at work is very picky about the ground so I can't do anything else without getting oil and coolant all over the pavement. I'm going to try and make some time next week to push it into the shop and have one of the techs help me pull the motor out and strip it down one evening after work. We would have 3 hours to get it out and push the car back outside.

Then I'll have to strip everything off the donor motor in my friends garage, take the passenger seat out of the Celica again to haul the block to work. Then I can spend a few days piecing everything together. Then we'd have another 3 hrs to drop it back in, mount it up and push it back outside so I can do the rest of the little things on my lunch breaks in the following days.

Thats the plan. If all goes well it would be like 2 weeks. Realistically I'm going to have to say 3-4 wks. We'll see.
