supra injectors and MAF problem cured...dyno time!

supra injectors and MAF problem cured...dyno time!

Well, I finally got the time to install my supra injectors, supra maf, egr tube and reinstalled my s/c after sitting dormant for a very long time. I also completely cleaned out the s/c and changed the oil. However when I fired up the solara, it was missing terribly. Not sure if I reconnected my vaccum hoses incorrectly or if it is an injector problem...but I pulled PO306, 305, 304 (misfires on cyl. 4, 5, 6) and PO200 (injector malfunction)..then PO 000 and PO 001 (no idea what these are).

My injectors and supra MAF were purchased from Scott (SC V6), who bought them from Gabe. I sent them to Witchhunter Performance to get reconditioned...everything came back looking good. What could be causing this? I know I'm running very rich (jim's fuel kit, supra injectors, supra maf and walbro 190), but the car still shouldn't run this poorly. I know the spark plug wires are good and didn't have any problems with the plugs before...I just have to limp her up to the cities to see the dyno, but can't possibly drive it like this...help!

Put on the OEM Solara MAF and see if it runs the same or different. Need to narrow it down.

well, i'm thinking it was in the vaccum setup...I switched to the new hose routing in the supplement...I went to start the car and threw the belt, so we'll continue in a couple days when I have time to get back to it.

After my sc installed I was throwing multiple clynder misfires codes aswell ...I checked my hoses and all were good to my eyes that is .....
I would run with the stock Maf sensor to see if it helps ..spray carb cleaner around ur engine bay to check for leaks .....I learned that here on the forum ...
I still have the Cel ....and still have to put an o2 sensor after the cat just been a very busy month so far ....

Just for reference, I installed the same injectors last night and the car fired up with no hiccups or codes... runs exactly the same. My guess would be the MAF... good luck bro.

I've disconnected the battery several times to try to reset the ecu...how long should I expect it to run like this before the ecu compensates for at least some of the extra fuel+air? I just need to go about 1.5 hours to get to the dyno.

^^my guess is that it will depend on the car. I wish I could be of more help but the install of my injectors and supra maf were done at different times, but regardless I didn't have a CEL. I would just take it easy on the drive and hopefully the tune (assuming all hoses are hooked up right) will take care of some if not all CELs.

But your running off a safc arnt you? Injectors on a non tuned car runs very rich already. Add the MAF and you could be running super rich.

yes i have the safc, but there is no correction on the low end or at idle, so wouldnt the stock ecu be controlling it then? or no?

the ECU should adjust for Stoich when ur not in boost. I got this info from King, and it seems to be logical. The Ecu will need to adjust however to learn how to use the new bigger injectors correctly...but when ur in boost and in the diffrent loop, thats where ur safcII should kick in...and if ur not tuned, just dont go into boost till u can tune :-P

that was my understanding as well... the car didnt even sputter or anything, just cranked and idled, drives normally...

tuning on the low end should be minimal at best, no more than 4 or 5%, but usually around 3% correction.
