well i know i've been slackin on pictures, and i'm getting a new camera in two weeks so you guys will have to wait a little longer to see lara, but i can at least say my new audio install is 94% done

whats installed:
Alpine CDA-9883 Headunit
Alpine 6.5'' Type-R Components (doors) with tweeters
Alpine 6x9'' 3-way coaxials for the rear deck
Alpine V-power 40x4 rms amp (didnt have the extra 50 to go 75 watts rms - thats later on down the line)
JBL tweeters in custom fiberglass enclosures (i have them wired on separate channels running from the h/u with switches in the console for on/off)
3 Farad Capacitor
Lanzar Audio 2000 watt mofset amp, 500x2 rms
2 Kenwood KFC-W3011's (12'' subs) - i was originally thinking about type-R's, but honestly i'm glad i went with these, sound quality is great, very clear for 12's and if your aim is to just crank em up and let everyone in the surrounding blocks hear you, you can do that too - they're sitting in my fiberglassed solara box

to be installed/finished:
7'' LCD on dash in front of passenger, the fiberglass mount is done, but needs to be set
PS2 - connections for audio and power supply get here next week
switches for tweeters need some work, (loose connections because i was in a hurry)
annnd i figured why stop now, i have the supplies... sooo when i get back from vacation i'm makin two small fiberglass boxes to put the original 6.5'' JBL drivers from the front and the tweeters from the coax JBL's in the rear into the trunk with the Kenwoods

I did all the work myself, i havent had an interior in 'lara for close to two weeks now haha. I've been planning this build for over 3 months and saving up for it too so i'm pretty pumped that it finally all came together

Also this summer, after i got my tokico blues in two months ago, I tinted the tails, tinted the windows and unbalancedwood hooked me up with a Geddy Evo II he had layin around. I was planning on goin the whole 9 yards and getting the TRD kit too, but I'm actually studying abroad in Antwerp this coming spring and with gas prices on the rise/the value of the dollar dropping I decided it was a better idea to save some money haha.

I realize this is a long wided post especially without any pretty pictures to entise you, buuut one last thought...

once pictures are up, im considering building custom fiberglass gauge pods if any of you lucky boosted guys are interested, i've gotten pretty good at it at this point and wouldn't mind tryin my hand at it.

some pictures finally, i'm just getting used to having a nice camera, and playing around with all the settings, some of the pictures are crappy due to my inexperience and because i wanted to see what would happen -buuut without further ado - in all of its (roughly) 1100 watt RMS (2450 watt max) glory

7 in. LCD, needs a lil cleaning, but the custom mount came out pretty good for foam, a dremel and fiberglass


ps2 mount needs finishing before its installed, but people can play guitar hero in my car, thats necessary right? wouldnt have done it all but i got the set up for free for my old subs, just had to build it in


bass knob relocation, again, the mount isnt quite done yet, still needs to be carpeted.

next - clean engine bay, oil (much needed) intake filter, repaint manifold cover (and do it right this time), wrap headers with exhaust wrap from summit racing, NGK iridium plugs, tb extender, wires (maybe used magnecores), wideband a/f gauge, tuneable CP-e Black box


JBL tweeters got moved into custom mounts between the ceiling and frame above the seatbelt, a lil dark i know, forgot the flash

both tweeters are running off of the old door speaker channel from the h/u, not the amp, and are wired to the opposing blue LED switches... which, now that i've gotten this far, have decided to not work right anymore and refuse to light up.. the big swtich in the middle is the killswitch for the subs


ignore the halfassed caliper job i did in the back last summer, when i get new pads it'll look fine

the only rattle i have is the exhaust head shield - any ideas from the audio gurus?

take the shield off, but nice setup gonna be nice when its all done. I might do a fiberglass box but not to sure

You can take of the exhaust heat shield.
I think they make a gold reflectin' heat shield like mat.
Wat thinkin' of gettin' it for my car.
Can't remember the name or site.
Will have to look it up in my D-Sport magazine. lol.

might seem like a stupid concern - but doesnt the heat shield help keep the temp of the gas in the tank down? thus keeping it from evaporating any more quickly then necessary?

ps- new Nikon d40 for my birthday , there will be plenty of pictures as promised in the next 2 weeks

ok what did he use to paint the cover on the engine...i have been wanting to paint mine but i have no clue on what to use because i dont want the paint to break off later on.
