1 or 2 resonators?

1 or 2 resonators?

Postby woa_its_j3ff » Wed Jun 18, 2008 7:56 pm

I have the greddy evo 2.
I hear there are 2 resonators,
I want a more gurgly growly sound with a little more backfire/rumbly stuff .
Whatever.
Anyways.
Should I remove, one or 2?
And I'm worried about sound, I don't want it super super loud like a fu<king honda, but not as quiet as it is now.

what is the better route?
sound/tone, loudness.?

thanks.

I think "CASTRO" has a straight mid-pipe on his car.
It won't sound like a Honda.

Maybe someone with the Evo 2 and one resonator can make a sound clip for you... or has that sound clip sitting around somewhere?

I've heard that on the V6, having two resonators and NO MUFFLER sounds really nice... but haven't heard it in person.

youve heard right
i think it sounds pretty cool
i removed my muffler one day and ran a 0-60 run

Anyway Im still rocking 2 resonator ( I think ) from my JIC catback but now with the JPP header/ypipe setup I think my car sounds nice.

btw in the cabin, its damn quiet. haha, my Honda Fit with catback and one resonator is like 3x louder. Then again im v6 and boosted.

Being boosted helps, N/A it was a little louder but never raspy. Maybe its cause the motor was working harder most of the time?

okay i'll go with 2 resonators removed.

any idea on how much it costs to get this done?

a local shop quoted me at most 100 bucks.

I know there is 2 resonators, where are they located?

I asked Dats, he says some people who remove the resonators quote they sound weird?

it's either this or a katana I'm looking to buy. choices choices....

Mine doesn't sound like the supra... My supra sounds like a hyped up RX7....

That just means I need to go with 4.5 inch pipings now.
