^^^ ...but first...

A little "MEMORIAL" celebrating my 80k mark this week...

(Seemed fitting, being the MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT in Columbus today and all...)

...don't worry...

They're coming...

^^^ We didn't PLAN this line-up... (hence, a little crooked...), but when Alex showed up, it serendipitously led to a quick photo op. (Despite the unintentional arrangement, I think it looks alright none-the-less! :D

^^^ Nice work on the four-banger, Tact! The spool pumps an additional half-atmosphere of forced induction into each cylinder, effectively turning this Golden Chariot into the Millenium Falcon of our local Solara world...

The meet started out nicely, with a leisurely exchange of firm handshakes, names and mods, as we walked around and checked each others rides out. Audio systems were also hot on the ticket for show and audit alike.

...more to come...

^^^ HEY! crisp, what are you doing with that screwdriver???!!!

Image

...Oh... PHEW! Thought you were stealing the WIDEBAND MONITOR off the steering column! 8)

Image
Image

^^^ We capped off the initial rendezvous location with a great group angle... and I even managed to put myself in the frame for the record!

At that point, we decided to go RACING! :o

(No kidding...)

^^^ We filed out of the Easton Parking garage, and headed off to QUAKER STEAK and LUBE, a short highway drive up the road.

PROMPTLY upon arrival... we experienced a typical Ohio spring... from BEAUTIFUL BILLOWY clouds... to POURING DIAGONAL RAIN!

Fortunately, aside from the window that Kevin BLEW OUT when he hit 139MPH TRYING to outrun me... we were no worse for the wear, as TMMK shows us in this valiant attempt to make the best of the circumstances.

Image

...most of us just RAN to shelter at the entrance of QUAKER STEAK...

(sorry K, glad to see you got it sorted out before we left the location!)

Image

^^^ ...after a quick snack... we moved on out to the parking lot, where the weather was BEAUTIFUL once again!

I decided to grab a few more shots of Micheal T's beautiful 'lara...

Image

Image

^^^ Really sweet ride, Mike! Great work on all the "special" details. I would be remiss not to show your dual tips, while I'm at it...

^^^ Tact and Michael begin to argue over WHO has the toughest ride...

...but before they could start swinging...

FORTUNATELY for all, Alex works for the CIA or FBI (or something), and Ken was a BOUNCER at a Hooters for many years. (Or maybe not...)

I convinced everyone to make like SOLARAGUYS and bunch up for a group shot, as Chris kept a watchful eye out for "THE MAN" to show up with cuffs...

Image

(Execution left something to be desired, as you can see above... but eventually, I was able to corral the motley crew into some semblance of a group photo... 8)

Image

(Thanks to Solorange's friend for taking this shot...)

...several of us had already begun to part ways, so a few headed over to go-kart racing, and I headed back to my mongo family under propulsion assistance from my crispmongo air filter...

(Someone ELSE needs to add the GO-KART racing shots!)

I couldn't make the actual HIN event, either... so I hope it went well for all who attended!

Here were the parting shots from what I took, featuring Alex's clean ride and Chris's hot, burnt orange head-turner... hope everyone enjoyed the set. (I should have shot more, but my pants kept falling down... and it was hard to take pictures with loose jeans.)

It was GREAT guys! Thanks to all who showed for the good exchange and great memories. We'll have to do another one soon.

Gaggle of Solaras?

Pride of Solaras?

None the less, nice pics. Thanks for sharing, Crisp.

Well, TWO guys in red T-shirts... and neither are Nick.

TMMK (139mph Camry) and Mike T (Cool dude who makes some of our grilles, in blue shorts)

Thanks for checking it out, guys!
