Thanks for all the information! I have never replaced a head unit. Any advice? I wouldn't want to spend a fortune, but would like a nice sound.

well if you want to keep it stock i happen to have my jbl 6 changer left from before i started tinkering with audio equipment, worked perfectly back when i took it out 2 years ago and its been sitting in a closet since, Id be happy to let it go for cheap if either of you are interested. I highly recommend the Pioneer AVIC-D2 head unit. It supports CD, MP3 and has navigation. I bought mine for $500 a year ago. They're probably cheaper now. I love having GPS and it looks great in the dash.
