Throttle Body Spacers & Overboring???

Throttle Body Spacers & Overboring???

Postby M_ABILLONES » Mon May 26, 2008 8:05 am

Like the title states, is it worth it to add a throttle body spacer and overboring the the throttle body? Should I only do one or do both?

my straight answer- no. you arent going to feel much of an improvement, if anything. Midias and some of the other guys that have done it might say otherwise, but my personal opinion is dont waste your time.

I agree. I was looking to get one but I talked to John (sleepersolara) first about it and he said he doesnt think there is any real increase.

I know Midias said with the throttle body spacer and the CP-E he felt a noticable gain. Ask him about it, he's done both.

Yeah there is a very slight difference in power addition wit the throttle body spacer.
I do want to get a overbored T/B.
But then again i just added a CP-e intake to my car.
Now the CP-e intake did add a big difference. lol.

I noticed some slight gain when I added the spacer. Prob. noticed it more at midrange. The whistling sound is nice too. Ricerish I know but does sound like a turbo spooling.

Throttle felt a little sharper with the spacer, but I dunno about any power gains.

Ya, I actually had a guy accuse me of being blown when I beat him in a couple of highway runs. I just laughed at him as he asked me to pop the hood and when I did it frustrated him even further. Gotta love how people underestimate the Camry

Seems like I've had my CPE on my car for about 1 1/2 to 2 years now and just added the throttle body spacer and it feels like I get quicker and more response. Its not going to be the greatest thing since sliced bread but I can feel a difference. I think it was worth the money and time to put it on.

I took my car on a 300 mile trip and got better gas mileage by 2 mpg. I'll keep it on my car.

yea so ive had the spacer and the overbored.. w/ the cpe

the spacer does sound cool. And i think i may have felt slight gains.

the diameter from the spacer is smaller by a couple mm than the overbored tb so the makers told me the spacer would actually then be a restriction on the overbored tb.

so now i just have the overbored TB by itself
