well I wish I took pics unfortunately I didnt have a camera or my cell on me.. took me the whole day but I dynomatted my entire car, door panels, rear seats, did part of rear carpet area too. whole trunk and spare tire..

the sound quality now is pretty impressive.

only major thing that sucked was I had to take off my wing and put new 3m tape on there since the old one was shot, and made it rattle like crazy.

but all in all, dynamat is very well worth its expensive price. I looked into a lot of this stuff before deciding to do it. tomorrows sunny skies and 80 degree weatehr should help this stuff 'oven-bake' nicely :D

Well done Jeff. Dynomat is a good step toward great sound quality. Are you going to do any audio competitions?

About how many and what size sheets did you use? I'm looking into sound dampening but am unsure how to approximate the quantity needed.

there is the stuff available at circuit city the "extrme" whatever its like for a full size trunk where you cover up the spaare tire, top part of trunk and tailights, etc, basically everyhign trunk wise, comes with lke 3-4 long sheets of dynamat..

well yeah I bough like.. 5-6 rolls of that stuff..

so.. 150.00x5 (or 6) is .. yeah a lot of money, but man (around 750.00-900.00)
I am honestly happy with it. it may seem outrageous to you guys and im honestly not a huge audio freak but.. i do got a few things in store.

there is a reason why I rolled my fenders ;) and not just for spacers

the whole car? damn. I put 2 layers on my whole interior and trunk...and it took me much longer than a day...but I was pretty anal about getting everything perfect...as well as adding the heat gun to get a good seal on everything...and completely removing my interior and subs/amps. You must have had some help! You will appreciate the difference in cabin noise and sq. Now, just go out and get some new weather stripping for the doors and you will have a whole new feel of cabin insulation.

wow...good stuff...that stuff is quality. I went with raammat back in the day because it was cheaper, but the increased resonance quality of the bass is well worth it! also the bit in the front doors and rear panel were well worth it too

the only reason why I didn't go all the way with sound deadening though, was the weight....I couldn't bear adding so much weight to my car....

I presume you're planning on getting some hardcore custom system then? And that'd be great to see....but then plan on either getting coilovers or different front springs (or rear springs- whichever you end up doing) so that your front isn't jacked up in the air when you add a 200lb system :p

Wow... spending that kind of money on the mat alone... I can only imagine the box that's gonna go in the trunk!

hilarious thing was.. I never.. like I said knew much audio stuff I felt that black goop stuff it felt lke tar or sometihng basically or something like that. whenever I got done with the license plate or trunk for example, it didnt feel so.. hollow anymore.. it felt like plastic almost.. even with the doors, it felt heavier..

My friend kept telling me to put on two layers of dynomat instead of one, but I thought that was ridiculous so I told him..

"whats the point, it's like putting on two condoms, you really only need one"

I mean for right now, I only have 2 10inchers, but the sound quality and bass etc is severely improved. All I'll say is, I rolled my fenders for a reason ;).. I have other things in store related to all this in due time.

I didn't really have much help when doing it, my bro helped me take apart a few trim pieces and whatnot and cut a few layers of Dynamat for me.

I'm very happy with spending that money on this. i dynamatted nearly eevery part of my car except my roof...

I did my door panels both the inside of the outer door skin and the outside of the inner panel. I also took all of the back seats, side panels and trunk panels out and put Dynomat on anything that didn't move. I probable added 30 pounds to the car's weight but the music sounds so much better and road noise has decreased significantly.

If I ever get ambitious again I'll take out the front seats and floor mat and do that area also. I really like the results.
